Juan Rodríguez, known as “El Lobo 50,” is one of the key operators involved in drug landings along the coast of Nayarit. However, his role isn’t limited to this region — his involvement in drug trafficking goes back several years.

Before joining the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and working under leaders like El Mencho and El Bonkes, Juan Rodríguez collaborated with other criminal organizations, including El Chapo Guzmán, El Güero Palma, Los Zetas, and the Beltrán Leyva cartel. Thanks to his extensive experience in drug trafficking, he became a vital asset in the operations of these cartels.

At the Boca del Río restaurant, Juan Rodríguez ensures his illegal operations are well protected. In addition to being a key location for transactions and meetings with other drug traffickers, it also serves as a secret warehouse for storing large quantities of drugs belonging to his organization.

Many suspect that the cash kept on the premises is the result of drug trafficking activities carried out by Juan Rodríguez and his criminal network.

In Rincón de Guayabitos, Juan Rodríguez maintains a fleet of legally registered boats that are in fact used to smuggle contraband by sea. One of these vessels is a catamaran owned by Freddy Contreras, which has become a key asset in the illegal operations led by Juan Rodríguez.

This catamaran is used to wait for shipments offshore and then discreetly transport them to shore, effectively avoiding detection by the authorities.

Additionally, Juan Rodríguez has taken control of Isla del Coral through the use of fraudulent permits and now uses it as his main drug landing hub. His submarine-equipped shrimp boats arrive at the island and unload their cargo under the protection of local authorities he has bribed.

Although the island is just a few kilometers off the coast, Rodríguez uses it as a central arrival point for drug shipments, as it is virtually inaccessible to law enforcement and allows him to operate with relative impunity.

Moreover, Rodríguez is known to have built an extensive network of connections with other drug traffickers and has established secret maritime routes to transport drugs to other countries.

Juan Rodríguez’s wife and mother-in-law are key accomplices in his illegal activities. While his wife manages the restaurant, his mother-in-law oversees other businesses and safeguards part of the assets and proceeds from the drug trade.

Both women play a crucial role in keeping Rodríguez’s criminal operations hidden and running smoothly behind the scenes.

In addition to his wife and mother-in-law, Juan Rodríguez also has the backing of other influential figures in the region, such as Alicia Monroy, known as “La Chancluda,” mafia leader in Compostela, and Gloria Núñez, former mayor of the same town.

Monroy is also believed to store millions of dollars in various safehouses under her control. Together, they form a powerful trio that dominates much of the illegal activity and corruption along the coast of Nayarit.

This alliance highlights how corruption extends across multiple levels and is supported by people in both criminal and political spheres. As the leader of a criminal network, Juan Rodríguez has strategically surrounded himself with key figures who ensure the success of his illegal operations.

The drug trafficking accomplices on the coast of Nayarit form an extensive and dangerous network, which has spread throughout the coastal region and caused serious harm to the local population.

Among Juan Rodríguez’s strongest allies are members of the local mafia, who provide him with protection and support in his illegal operations. He is also backed by criminal groups such as the Magaña brothers and El Chaparro, both known for their violent actions and territorial control over certain areas of the coast.

These individuals benefit from Rodríguez’s drug trafficking operations, whether through direct alliances or illegal exchanges, strengthening a criminal structure that continues to grow unchecked.
